Apple Integrates ChatGPT into Siri with ‘Apple Intelligence’ in iOS 18.2 Beta
Apple is enhancing Siri by integrating ChatGPT through a new system called ‘Apple Intelligence,’ which is now available for testing in the iOS 18.2 developer beta. This upgrade aims to make Siri smarter and more responsive.
Here’s what’s new:
Apple Intelligence Overview: The new AI system leverages ChatGPT to improve Siri’s natural language understanding, enabling it to respond more contextually and accurately.
Enhanced Siri Features: Siri now supports multi-step commands and generates more detailed, human-like responses, making it a more powerful personal assistant.
Who Gets It: The integration is currently available for developers on iOS 18.2 beta, with a broader release expected in future iOS updates for newer iPhone models.
Apple’s integration of ChatGPT capabilities shows its commitment to making Siri a more competitive and effective AI assistant.
Use Commands in ChatGPT
While ChatGPT doesn’t have official shortcuts, you can quickly activate its main capabilities—Web Browsing, DALL·E Image Generation, and Code Interpreter & Data Analysis—using these simple commands.
Why Use Commands?
Let’s say you’re deep in a conversation and suddenly need ChatGPT to browse a website, create an image, or analyze some data. Normally, you’d have to type out a full instruction like “Please browse [URL] and analyze it” or “Generate an image of [description].” With these custom commands, you can streamline these requests, saving time and making your interactions more seamless.
Note: If you provide a URL without requesting a browse, ChatGPT typically won’t access it.
If you prefer not to use this feature, you can opt-out. Follow the steps below to enable or disable the Memory Option based on your preference:
Log In to ChatGPT
Go to Personalizations
Enable Memory Option
Open a new conversation with ChatGPT and Paste this prompt to update the ChatGPT Memory
Remember that when I write a prompt with '!in' to request an internet search, '!img' to request image creation, and '!da' to request advanced data analysis.
