Create Your Own GPT

The GPT Store will be released soon (probably this week). Anyone can utilize the platform and OpenAI’s powerful language models to release their own GPT.

So today, we are going to show you the steps to create your own customized GPT.

Please note that ChatGPT Plus is needed to create your own GPT.

1. Click on “Create a GPT.”

First of all, log in to your OpenAI account. Then, select "Create a GPT" to initiate the GPT creation platform. The interface will ask you to assign a name to your GPT and begin providing examples of your desired GPT behavior.

2. Initiate the GPT builder.

Let us create a Tax Advisor GPT. Let’s input a prompt to the GPT builder:

Let’s create a Tax Advisor GPT that is expert in tax filing, deductions, and financial record-keeping and is built to provide guidance on tax-related queries tailored for small businesses.

3. GPT Name and Profile Picture

GPT Builder will suggest a name and profile picture, and then seek your approval. It recommended the “Tax Guide Pro” name for our customized GPT. It employs DALLE-3 in the background to produce the image.

4. Configure Your GPT

Click on the "Configure" tab located at the top. Here, you'll find default guidelines and a few example queries for initial discussions. Feel free to modify these if you wish.

Directly underneath that, you'll find the "Knowledge" section, where you can upload text files. Your GPT will then use the information from these files to generate responses. Here, we have uploaded a 26-page tax advisor file.

5. Publish Your GPT

The final step is just to publish this GPT by clicking the save button on the top right corner.
